A few months ago we noticed a lot of brown icky tartar build-up on Douglas’ teeth–his teeth looked much older than a 4 year old dog’s would normally look. The process of holding back his slimy mastiff-mix lips, and trying to prevent him from simply eating all the beef-flavored toothpaste was draining. We just never got good at brushing his teeth. So I did a lot of research online and have been learning about the raw diet for dogs. The dogs are currently having Orijen kibble, but we throw in a turkey neck and chicken back for them a couple of times a week. The results have been dramatic! Here he is now with his pearly whites after just a few months of eating turkey necks!! Now we’re working on transitioning both dogs to a completely raw diet.
